TRACS-RS

The product – TRACS-RS

Tracsis’ new rolling stock planning tool, TRACS-RS, has a comprehensive parameter list to cater for stock planning rules and a planning geography which ensures that stock workings are legal. The geography is mileage-based and TRACS-RS can determine the operational cost of a given timetable in a short space of time.TRACS-RS has an intuitive, drag-and-drop interface which allows for rapid start-up and editing.

TRACS-RS – what can it do for you?

  • Import timetable data from multiple sources including CIF, PIF and VPT files
  • Automatically generate legal rolling stock workings
  • Permit rapid creation of efficient and operable rolling stock schedules
  • Visualise stock diagrams based on station workings
  • Handle multiple stock types within train formations
  • Handle splitting and joining including understanding the concept of “front” and “back” units
  • Produce statistics for mileages run in operation
  • Output stock diagrams in multiple formats, including direct export to TrainTRACS
  • Identify and eliminate illegal workings
  • Provide the ability to carry out ‘what if’ contingency analysis in a short space of time
  • Provide a method of fast production for quality short-term schedules (e.g. for engineering works)
  • Provide an indispensable tool to assist in timetable change and franchise bidding

Typical data requirements for TRACS-RS are:

  • A complete timetable (with or without ECS movements already planned)
  • A current set of rolling stock diagrams (if available) for calibration purposes
  • A set of rolling stock planning rules including any “unwritten rules”
  • Details of the available fleet

TRACS-RS has pre-configured interfaces with other train planning software such as TPS, VoyagerPlan and TrainTRACS.
