Tracsis’ new rolling stock planning tool, TRACS-RS, has a comprehensive parameter list to cater for stock planning rules and a planning geography which ensures that stock workings are legal. The geography is mileage-based and TRACS-RS can determine the operational cost of a given timetable in a short space of time.TRACS-RS has an intuitive, drag-and-drop interface which allows for rapid start-up and editing.
TRACS-RS – what can it do for you?
- Import timetable data from multiple sources including CIF, PIF and VPT files
- Automatically generate legal rolling stock workings
- Permit rapid creation of efficient and operable rolling stock schedules
- Visualise stock diagrams based on station workings
- Handle multiple stock types within train formations
- Handle splitting and joining including understanding the concept of “front” and “back” units
- Produce statistics for mileages run in operation
- Output stock diagrams in multiple formats, including direct export to TrainTRACS
- Identify and eliminate illegal workings
- Provide the ability to carry out ‘what if’ contingency analysis in a short space of time
- Provide a method of fast production for quality short-term schedules (e.g. for engineering works)
- Provide an indispensable tool to assist in timetable change and franchise bidding
Typical data requirements for TRACS-RS are:
- A complete timetable (with or without ECS movements already planned)
- A current set of rolling stock diagrams (if available) for calibration purposes
- A set of rolling stock planning rules including any “unwritten rules”
- Details of the available fleet
TRACS-RS has pre-configured interfaces with other train planning software such as TPS, VoyagerPlan and TrainTRACS.
